Reporter Lewis Hicks (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is studying famous murder cases for a story he intends to write when he comes home to find his new girlfriend dead. The investigation turns on Hicks and finds him as the main suspect, so Hicks goes after the killer to try and clear his name.
